Block Island School

The Block Island School will have an early dismissal on Monday April eighth at 1:15 in the afternoon. We are doing this out of an abundance of caution regarding the solar eclipse. More information can be found on the Community Update being sent out later this afternoon.

The ninth grade had a great trip to Rhode Island School of Design and an evening show at the Trinity Rep Theater. Special thanks to Mrs. Robb, Mr. O'Brien, and Sarah Barkley for organizing and chaperoning the trip.

We kicked off National Reading week with Literacy Night . We have had two special community members guest read, and we all are participating in Drop Everything and Read. Grab a book and join in on the adventure!

The Girls Varsity Basketball advances to the Semifinals against Johnson High. Lady Canes play Friday 3/1 5:30pm. If they win, they play Monday @ 4pm in the State Finals @ the AMP. Due to the forecast for a nor'easter, The Block Island School will hold a virtual learning day tomorrow, Tuesday 2/13/24. Similar to the past virtual learning day, all classes will have 3 hours of synchronous instruction. We will use the same schedule from 8:00am to 11:53am.
